Your excursion will start at the monastery church of Archangel Michael. It is located about 25 km south of Limenas, on your way to Aliki. It is a significant landmark that dates back to the 18th century. Today, this church of Archangel Michael plays home to notable collections of religious artefacts, works and articles created by monks of the time. Most notable of them all is a part of the Holy Nail used to crucify Jesus Christ. Should you schedule a tour with us over the Easter season, you will get to witness a procession at the monastery where the Holy Nail is carried back to the convent.
From here, you will get to visit the archaeological site and ancient marble quarry at exotic Aliki beach. This is 32 km from Limenas, and it plays home to quarries that are centuries old. Marble from this specific quarry was used to construct structures within the Island from the ancient to byzantine years. Aliki has been inhabited from the 7th c. b.C since the 7th c. a.D and it had a large population, coupled with a big port. On its highest spot are remnants of two paleo-Christian basilicas that date back to the 5th century. This is an area that is rich in history, and your guide will walk you through all that on your excursion.
Another must-go-to location would be the famous Vagi Museum in Potamia. This museum was established back in 1981, and it was dedicated to the work and life of Polugnotos Vagis. He was a famous artist born in the village of Potamia, in Thassos, an individual who helped put the village on the map. This museum is popular with art enthusiasts owing to its incredible collection of sculptures, and paintings, all meticulously preserved, displayed, and curated for your learning and viewing pleasure.
Other spots that you will visit during the tour will include the Panagia traditional mountain village. Here you will get to see the love springs and the church, as well as Golden Beach, where you will get to sit back and enjoy the sand in your feet and the sun on your skin, and the water in the horizon.

From the time the driver shows up at your pickup location to when they drop you off, all measures specified by the health ministry will be observed. You are urged to follow all ministry of health regulations. All the areas that customers touch are frequently cleaned. The van is accessible by wheelchair. As such, the trip can accommodate interested parties who might be using wheelchairs. We do not provide any child seats, meaning that infants will have to sit on laps. This means that an adult must accompany all children on the trip. Minimal hiking might be required, so please do keep that in mind. However, most travelers can still enjoy the tour experience..
