This family friendly experience will start at 08:30 from the port of Limenas. By 10:00 we will be in the archeological site of Philippi where we will see the ancient theatre, the ruins of Byzantine churches, the ancient egnatia road and the prison of Saint Paul! Philippi is the first city in Europe that Saint Paul visited in 49 a.D in order to spread the new religion of Christianity! It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes to see the site of Philippi and from Philippi it takes 10 minutes to reach the village of Lydia, where Saint Paul baptized the first Christian woman in Europe. There is an octagonal baptistery beautifully decorated next to river Zigaktis, the so-called river Jordan of Europe.
The city of Κavala is 20 minutes away from Philippi and it is one of the most beautiful cities in Greece, all built amphitheatrical on the slopes of mount Simvolon! The most important monuments of Κavala are its old churches, its fortress, the ancient walls, the aqueduct and the monument of Saint Paul!
After lunch by the sea front we get back to the port of keramoti early in the afternoon.
